OUR MINISTRIES
The Mens Ministry's goal at Sardis Missionary Baptist Church is to reach and engage every man in ministry from the pulpit to the pew. We want to offer men the following: Support, Fellowship and Relationships. We want to help men meet the challenges of being a husband, father, and wage earner in todays society. Our aim is to impact the men of the church and equip them to be the leaders God has called them to be. Men may find meaningful and edifying experiences by participating in the mens ministry through, the annual weekend Mens Retreat, Mens Breakfasts, Mens Bible study, and various other mens fellowship opportunities. We realize that men need each other in order to be successful as Christians.

"Let no one deceive you with empty words," -Ephesians 5:6This ministry analyzes and keeps the congregation abreast of current community issues, as well as those on the county, state, and national levels.
I.R.O.N.M.A.N.
The I.R.O.N.M.A.N ministry provides men with resources to develop Godly character and to equip them to influence their world for Christ. Becoming a Christian is not a destination; it is the beginning of a life-long journey.
Deaconess means servant. The Deaconess office is one in which competent, dedicated women serve the Lord and his people through providing spiritual care, instruction in the Faith, and acts of love.The Deaconess Ministry oversee and superintend the Holy Sacraments, which are those institutions given to the Church by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in which "He commanded. . ." the Church to do, namely; Water Baptism and Holy Communion.The main responsibility of the Deaconess Board is to prepare and attend to all the details needed to carry out and perform each of the aforementioned ceremonies. The means and methods of this ministry are managed in cooperation with and under the direct supervision of the Pastor.Additionally, this ministry is also responsible for maintaining and caring for the sacred vessels, altar coverings, and other sacramental linens. A Deaconess serves not to be seen, but that others may see Christ in the beauty of holiness.
Deaconess Ministry
When entering a church, ushers are usually the first people you meet. Sardis Missionary Baptist Church ushers are committed to making your first contact with the church a pleasant one. The mission of the SMBC Ushers Ministry is to win more souls for Christ by graciously welcoming and assisting all who enter the Sardis Missionary Baptist Church.

Managing the demands of marriage, family, career and church responsibilities can be overwhelming. It is easy to get caught up in a hectic schedule and a daily routine that you forget what is truly important. THERE IS A SOLUTION - the plenary Word of God. We endeavor to exhort and encourage every woman through the Word to seek Gods power, plan and purpose for their lives.The pursuit of excellence and modeling Jesus in every area of life is encouraged through Bible studies, retreats, seminars, and also several fun events. Our activities and meeting times vary and are open to women of all ages; every gathering is an opportunity to meet new friends. Come grow with us as we go with God.
Mission and Outreach
"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" -Isaiah 6:8
To train, encourage and exhort the church concerning their participation in the LORD's Great Commission. We believe that each Christian is called to a wonderful life of obedience to Jesus. One of His clearest commands is that of bringing lost people to a saving knowledge of Him. There is no Christian that is exempt and no place on earth is to be overlooked. God calls some to reach the lost across the street and others to reach across the world.
Evangelism and Visitation
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witness in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. -Acts 1:8
The purpose is to develop a focused and comprehensive Evangelism Plan, then spearhead its execution. The scope of the plan should be both internal Antioch, a domestic plan and an international plan. Then working in concert with various other ministries (Christian education, communication, etc.) conduct evangelistic training in the church, and spearhead various other evangelistic activities throughout the year.
Women's Ministry
Is your child connected to God? Join our SMBC's Youth Ministry. This is a wonderful fun filled opportunity to put your child in touch with God through a spiritual environment. Your child will experience learning God's word through scripture games, Bible Stories, singing praises, praying, art and crafts applications! Come join us and watch your children develop their spiritual growth.
Youth Ministry
The biblical qualifications for a Deacon are described in 1 Timothy 3:8-13:
The word Deacon means servant. The Deacon Ministry at Sardis Missionary Baptist Church acts as the arms and legs of the Pastor. The Deacons are there to relieve the Pastor of any load that they are capable of carrying.
Prayer Chain
Praying individually and as a group for the specific needs of our church.
Baptism
Assist the Pastor in administering Baptism. The deacons help provide a spiritual atmosphere of love and courtesy.
Lord's Supper
Assist the Pastor in administering the Lord's Supper. Administer Communion to the Sick & Homebound.
Crisis Intervention
Provide crisis ministry for members and those in the community in times of special need (death, financial crisis, etc.). This is the church benevolence committee.
Deacon Ministry
"Rise in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God.
I am the LORD. " Leviticus 19:32 This ministry provides loving and compassionate care to the homebound, those in the convalescent homes, those hospitalized with illness or injury, or those who need a special touch and are unable to join us in our corporate celebration gathering. In our congregation, there are many and diverse opportunities for this particular arm of outreach ministry.
Elderly Care Ministry
The mission of the Christian Education ministry is to educate God's people about God's Word and His working in their lives. We provide educational opportunities for all members from the youngest to the oldest.
Sunday School
We provide Bible education in a classroom teacher/group discussion format in classes from 3 years old to adult.
Bible University
This celebration is designed with spiritual and educational growth in mind. It is especially designed to assist and encourage you as you grow in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As a result of your desire (by participating) to learn and grow, we pray that you continue to grow spiritually, educationally, and intellectually through the various media sources you select.
Christian Education Ministry
The mission of the Music Ministry is to win souls for Christ by ministering a diverse range of religious music that communicates Gods Word and Gods love in worship. The SMBC Music Ministry consists of 8 choirs:Mass ChoirAdult ChoirYouth ChoirChildrens Choir

Health Professional Ministry
The Health Professional Ministry was established in January of 2013. The ministry is comprised of members of the congregation with various experiences and professions all sharing a passion for God, compassion for others, and a concern for others, and a concern for health and wholeness.
We believe that health is a very real part of happiness and comes in many forms. The Health Services Ministry of Sardis Missionary Baptist Church consist of a group of Christian healthcare professionals and trained laypersons who seek to promote a continuum of health (spiritual, emotional and physical) and wholeness within the church, community, nation and world.
If you want to be healthy in your spirit, soul and body be sure to participate in the many services of the Health Ministry. They are here to help you live long and live strong!
Culinary (Fellowship) Ministry
When we have true fellowship, none are left out. All those within our fellowship are connected, not neglected, cared for and remembered, not ignored or forgotten. Fellowship is more than fried chicken and potato salad. Fellowship is the mortar that holds the church together. Fellowship is the intentional effort to make sure every member is valued and immersed in love. The Culinary Committee is in charge of seating in the Fellowship Hall.
D.I.V.A. Style Young Ladies Ministry
The Sardis Missionary Baptist Church Diva Style program provides Christ centered classes for young ladies ages 5 to 19, using Biblical principles to encourage young ladies to lead a life that glorifies God.
This program was birth out of the hearts of Christian women, encouraged by God, to help our daughters be ushered into their promise by the wisdom, mentoring and life coaching we afford them in love. We desire the best for young ladies, and strive to teach them to expect the best for themselves through Godly principles and practical life application.
Our commitment is to help young ladies understand and proclaim God's word and pursue Christ and His holiness with a passionate heart. This program encourages a passion for God's people, while developing intimate life-transforming relationships with our Father and other young ladies.
In addition to focusing on higher order thinking and life skills, the program provides focus in the areas of self-awareness and personal productivity.
